Hon'ble Judge — 2022 to Present

The apex court of the Indian judiciary. Justice Datta assumed charge on 12th December 2022. He adjudicates on critical constitutional, civil, and criminal matters at the national level, delivering judgments that shape the legal reasoning of the entire country's judicial apparatus.

Chief Justice — 2020 to 2022

Appointed as Chief Justice on 28th April 2020. Over more than two and a half years at the helm, he provided administrative leadership and judicial direction during some of the court's most challenging times, handling major public interest litigations and deeply complex civil matters.

Permanent Judge — 2006 to 2020

Elevated as a permanent Judge on 22nd June 2006, serving his home court with distinction for 14 years. It was during this tenure that he cemented his legacy as a jurist with an unerring grasp of the Constitution and strong command over civil procedure.
